Johnny’s Dance Band IS BACK !
As Frank Zappa once said, “We’ve decided to put the band back together !”
Our Last Minute Jam January 15 at The Legendary Dobbs in Philadelphia far exceeded everyone’s expectations. From the start of it, I think we knew. There was magic in the air. It was The New Johnny’s Dance Band !
Artists rarely receive the kind of extremely enthusiastic and emotional response we had that night. The cheers from our small audience of 150 were as intense as we used to experience when the original JDB ruled the seventies around here.
Old supporters, new fans, and the media all wanted to know what we would do next. Well, we all decided, without hesitation to just do it. As someone else once said, “I Gahn. And I know where I’m comin’ from. I Gahn. It’s true. But I don’t know where I Gahn to.”
But, we’ll let you know as it develops. Next, we’ll be rehearsing & booking some gigs. Rest assured that when we perform, we’ll provide large dose of the great Johnny’s Dance Band songs, satire, and theatrics that built our unique reputation way back then. We hope you will feel that what we’ve created – and continue to create – is rather … timeless. And no matter what age, a guaranteed good time will be had by all.
Thanks to Bobby Lenti and Courtney Colletti, my partners in crime for forty years or more. Through all our ups and downs, we’ve never lost the faith in our original concept of totally unique, original Rock ‘Roll Vaudeville.
Thanks to George Manney and Su Teears, our two new band members, who share the credit for instigating & igniting the New JDB. They’ve been devotees of our music for years, and slipped right on in … like your foot into a moccasin. When you witness them perform, you will understand what I mean.
Thanks most of all to my wife, Dyann, who told me 31 years ago, when she heard my music … “What are you doing in the antique business? You don’t like it. You’re no good at it. You were obviously put on this Earth to create music. Now, get back to it !” I love you baby. You’re my reason for livin’.

Dear Friends, this has been the happiest week I’ve had in many years. It’s a unmatched feeling that every musician hopes might happen just once in life. I’m so very fortunate that it seems to be happening twice. I thank you all for your love, support and encouragement.
