Every year the WMMR morning radio crew, Preston & Steve, hold a food drive to help feed hungry people in the Philadelphia area. They broadcast their show from inside a tent set-up at Xfinity Live next to the stadiums in South Philly. The many tons of non-perishable food items collected benefit Philabundance.
Plenty of celebrities and bands lend their support. This year The Record Company performed a free concert for anybody that made a donation. The Record Company is a hard rocking blues band out of Los Angeles, CA. Bassist, Alex Stiff, is a native of Wayne, Pennsylvania.
For a trio, the band sure puts out a lot of sound. The blues riffs and rhythms filled the hall with an unstoppable dance groove. The audience did their part to fulfill the dancing. Pierre Robert could be seen going up-and-down and to-and-fro the entire show. The upbeat vibe was due in large part to the energy of the band. It was obvious they love what they are doing. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Chris Vos, would jump and spin around while playing a wide array of guitars. Their stage presence is really something to be enjoyed.
