This house is from 1717. It was once the plantation house for one of the
original eleven tracts of land drawn-up by William Penn in Roxborough (334
acres). It is the oldest house on Ridge Road
(which runs from Philadelphia to Reading) and was witness to
the Revolution.
Expensively built by the early Palatine
Germans, this room of the 1717 house has floor-to-ceiling stone, large
hand-hewn oak beams and a dutch door.
