Cheyney Univ.. is the oldest historically black institution of higher education in the U.S. The academic program includes 34 undergraduate majors leading to bachelor of arts, bachelor of science and bachelor of science in education degrees. Founded in 1920 as a Catholic liberal arts college for women, Immaculate continues to enroll women in its day classes. Evening classes and the schools graduate program are open to both men & women. The college offers undergraduate and graduate programs directed primarily towards liberal education, together with preparation for professions and/or further education. Immaculata's  programs are designed to encourage logical and critical thought, independent study and the integration of knowledge.

Founded in 1854 as the Ashmun Institute, Lincoln University is the nations oldest continuously operating college whose original purpose was to provide higher education for youths of African descent. Today it provides a superior education to people of all races, awarding undergraduate degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science, in 26 areas of study. Lincoln also offers a 3-3 program in engineering in coop with Drexel University and a 3-2 program in engineering in coop with Penn State, Lafayette College and the NJ Institute of Technology.

The first university campus to be located in a corporate center in the U.S., this location provides a cooperative environment for a blending of academia and business. Corporate-style classrooms are wired for voice and data communications and video teleconferencing; there also is a state-of-the-art computer center and a reference & research library. Penn State Great valleys enrollment is approximately 1,000 graduate students, all part-time adult learners. Programs of study include master of engineering, master of management, and teacher certification programs among other special features.

This college, located in Phoenixville, is an Assemblies of God institution of higher education committed to education and training of men and women for leadership in vocational ministry and ministry-related endeavors. VFCC is an accredited member of the American Assn.. of Bible College and grants bachelor of science and bachelor of religious education degrees to more than 500 students.

WCU is the largest four-year liberal arts institution of higher learning in Chester County, with a total enrollment of more than 12,000. The university consists of a College of Arts & Sciences with 14 academic departments and four professional schools -- Business & Public Affairs, Education, Health Science and Music, with 32 academic departments among them. There are 112 programs leading to bachelor or associate degrees. WCU's  388-acre campus is located in the heart of West Chester borough.
