We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe "Come Together", said the Prophet John "All You Need is Love" to carry on "A day in the Life?" dear John is dead I'm gonna try to "Imagine" that John might have said: (Remember) We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe "It's Getting Better all the Time" "We can Work it Out" 'cause "I Feel Fine" "I Want You", "Goo-goo-coo-choo" "Because" your "Words of Love" still ring completely true (Remember) We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe We're all members of the human race for better or for worse And we're all riding on the same planet in the same universe John is alive! if we remember John is alive! if we remember John is alive! if we remember John is alive! if we remember John is alive! (he'll never die), if we remember (keep the faith) John is alive! (he'll never die), if we remember (keep the faith) John is alive! (he'll never die), if we remember (keep the faith) John is alive! (he'll never die), if we remember (keep the faith) |
Credits: Basic Tracks:
Vocals:   Peter Cross Engineering:   Lance Thomason and Jay Bowman Final Mix:   Mark Needham Commentary: Basic tracks were recorded at The Tiki Hut in Hollyweird. The Tiki Hut is owned and operated by Philip Gnarly, a weird and totally gnarley talent himself. Philip, Eric and Dean cut the basic tracks on the first take. Peter finished the song with Tim McDonald at Mark Needham's studio in San Francisco. Like millions of other people, Peter was heavily influenced by John Lennon, both in music and life. Peter wrote the chorus to this song years ago, but could never find the right verses to fit with the chorus until it dawned on him that the chorus was very "Beatlesque" and the song could be about John. Peter went through all his Beatle albums and selected titles from John's songs to make the verses. The message of this song is that John is alive in all of us, if we remember him and the message of his life. |
